In distance Reiki healing, as in hands-on Reiki healing, the practitioner is merely a link between the recipient and the Reiki healing energy. The practitioner sets the intention to access Reiki and allow a connection to be made to the recipient. Reiki healing is ‘asked for’ by the recipients higher consciousness, not ‘sent’ by the practitioner.
The practitioner can be thought of as the operator in an old fashioned telephone exchange. The recipient asks to place a long distance call to Reiki, and the operator connects the two.
The Reiki Level Two Attunement is largely concerned with distance healing. The Reiki student learns how to ‘send’ Reiki not just across space, but also across time. This allows practitioners to work not just anywhere, but also anywhen. So at this level, Reiki healing may be used to aid you in future events, such a an interview, or be ‘sent’ back in time to heal past traumas.
